Federal funding for abstinence programs is being eliminated and replaced with funding for “Teen Pregnancy Prevention Programs.” What will happen to abstinence education? Some organizations may decide to stop teaching, others may convert their programs to fit the new funding guidelines, and others will continue teaching abstinence by marketing their programs to schools. Our plan is to continue. A&M is passionate about the message of abstinence until marriage and we are unwilling to stop teaching or convert our programs. Our goal is to work together with like-minded organizations and individuals who are passionate about continuing the abstinence message.
As we begin marketing programs to schools, we see at least three sources of income:
- Increased fundraising efforts
- Fees charged to schools
- Earned income through curricula sales
Being part of the A&M Team means you will pursue meeting with school decision makers to charge a fee for your teaching services and the curriculum. If you use A&M curriculum you will additionally earn a percentage of each sale. Now is the time to start marketing your services to schools in order that teens continue to receive a positive presentation on the benefits of abstinence.
